Job Description / Essential Elements:
Under the direction of the Director of Research & Assessment, perform a variety of specialized duties involved in the collection, processing, input, verification, organization, analysis, retrieval, record-keeping, presentation and reporting of student assessment test and other data; prepare, process, organize, order and coordinate the distribution and collection of testing materials; utilize an assigned computer system to input and extract data, maintain automated records and generate reports.
Perform a variety of specialized duties involved in the collection, processing, input, verification, organization, analysis, retrieval, record-keeping, presentation and reporting of student assessment test and other data; coordinate and maintain data, materials and information in support of State-mandated assessments, CELDT, STAR, CAPA, CAHSEE and Physical Fitness exams.
Maintain inventory of testing supplies and materials; order supplies and materials; receive, process, prepare and distribute tests and related materials according to established procedures; prepare and affix pre-coded student demographic labels to test materials; coordinate the distribution and collection of testing materials; prepare, inspect and verify accuracy of testing packages.
Input, scan and update assessment test and other data in an assigned computer system; access, extract, download, upload and maintain related automated records, data and files; create queries, generate links to data, develop spreadsheets and produce a variety of computerized reports; review input and output data to assure accuracy and completeness.
Provide technical assistance with the District’s Interim Assessments; compile, verify, evaluate and process student answer sheets and materials for Open Court, High Point, Prentice Hall and High School Interim Assessments; assist with coordinating tests and related activities with faculty, counselors and administrators; prepare student rosters and demographic files for various tests.
Compile, assemble, verify and evaluate a variety of assessment test and other educational data; prepare and maintain a variety of mandated and requested records, lists, reports and files related to assessment tests, scores, students, demographics, programs, materials and assigned activities; prepare State and federal-mandated reports such as CBEDS, Office of Civil Rights, R30 and Carl Perkins.
Provide technical assistance to District personnel and others concerning the administration, scoring, evaluation and reporting of District assessments; respond to inquiries and provide detailed and technical information concerning related standards, time lines, student information and reports.
Compare assessment data and identify errors and discrepancies; make corrections, additions and modifications as needed.
Interpret findings and prepare reports, graphs, charts, spreadsheets and other information related to student assessments used for analysis.
Communicate with personnel, administrators and various outside agencies to exchange information and resolve issues or concerns; contact others to request information, documents, data and reports as needed.
Operate a variety of office equipment including a copier, computer and a variety of specialized software.
Assist with a variety of statistical studies and educational research projects; compile test scores and data for special reports and statistical analysis.
Compose, distribute and respond to a variety of correspondence; prepare, process and evaluate various forms and applications.
Assist in researching and evaluating computer software, applications and upgrades for use in educational research and assessment; provide recommendations concerning related purchases.
Perform related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to: bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science or related field and two years experience in the research, compiling, preparation, processing and reporting of statistical data including work with student assessment tests.
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard.
